Homemade Mini Twix Bars
This is a perfect recipe for a late night snack, to being to a family gathering, or a sweet treat after a workout! Twix bars are protein-packed, they'll leave you wanting more!
Ingredients
Cookie Base
½ cup unsalted butter
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 scoops SFH PURE Whey Vanilla Protein
¼ cup granulated sugar
Pinch of salt
1 tbsp water
Caramel
2 cups condensed milk
1 cup unsalted butter
⅓ cup brown sugar
1 tsp pure vanilla extract
Chocolate Coating
1 cup semi-sweet dark chocolate chips
2 tbsp coconut oil
Directions
To Make The Base
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees
Line a bread pan or square tin with parchment paper
Add all of the base ingredients to a food processor or a bowl and mix until combined.
The mixture should stick together. Add more flour or water if necessary.
Firmly press the base mixture into the tin
Bake for 10 minutes or until slightly golden brown
Caramel Filling
Add all of the caramel ingredients to a saucepan over medium heat. Simmer for 15-20 minutes while stirring occasionally.
When the caramel is ready, pour it over the cookie base in the tin
Set aside in the fridge for 4 hours or until firm
Chocolate Coating
Add chocolate and oil to a small saucepan or double boiler over low heat.
Mix until melted and allow to cool.
Cut your twix bars and dip each bar into melted chocolate.
Set aside on a lined tray or plate.
Chill the twix bars for another 30 minutes or until firm.
