We’ve all heard the importance of working out and all the benefits it has for your health, both mental and physical. What you may not have heard is that not all workout clothing is made the same, and some is better for different types of exercises than others. is the number one choice, as it is versatile enough to work for all workouts, even yoga. Bamboo is moisture-wicking, UPF 50+, soft, and stretchy, making it the winner for any workout. Start your day off with a sunrise yoga session followed by a smoothie and a walk around the park, and end it with an intense cardio session, and you won’t need to change your outfit at all. Choose it in a bright color, and you’ll have even more motivation to complete that workout.
COTTON
is a great option, for low-impact and sweat options, like yoga. If you wear cotton for an intense cardio session, you’ll find that while it won’t smell, it will soak up water like a towel, keeping you drenched in sweat long after your workout is over.
Nylon is a great choice for those intense cardio workouts because it is mildew resistant, and sweat-wicking, so you can tackle that marathon knowing that your attire will help keep you cool and comfortable the whole way through.
POLYESTER
is the best choice for any kind of weather. If you’re running a marathon in the snow, it’ll keep you insulated and warm and dry, whereas if you are opting to take on a Zumba class outside in the middle of summer, it won’t absorb moisture, and will stay lightweight and breathable, allowing your sweat to evaporate off your skin and keep you cool. The one downside to this one is that it can get a little smelly, so make sure to wash it often to remove bacteria.
SPANDEX
is the stretchy material that you probably know best in yoga pants. Not only is it super stretchy, but it also is moisture wicking, so this is a good option for your yoga class and then your spin class following after it. You don’t have to worry about being uncomfortable at any point when you’re in spandex.
Workout clothing doesn’t have to be complicated, just make sure that you’re wearing the proper materials for your needs. You may find that you’re able to push through longer in a workout when you have the proper materials helping you along the way and are wearing the best materials for a workout.
